Irie Up slavi reggae glazbu i kulturu, donoseći novosti, intervjue, utjecaje kroz povijest i na kulturu, recenzije i izvještaje sa međunarodne roots scene. Izlazi dvomjesečno (6 brojeva godišnje), počevši od siječnja 2010. Svaki broj sastoji se od intervjua, priče po razrađenoj temi, "ReggaeTown" priče kroz predstavljanje scene u većim gradovima, recenzija novih izdanja i reizdanja. Drugi dio magazina temelji se na međunarodnim izvještajima, kroz okupljene stalne suradnike iz Irske, Velike Britanije, Francuske, Njemačke, Poljske, Hrvatske i Italije, uz povremene novosti iz Japana, SAD-a i sa Karipskog Otočja.
Irie Up podržava i promovira soundsystem kulturu, donoseći novosti sa lokalnih scena na međunarodnu, kao i novosti međunarodne važnosti u lokalne okvire, distribuiran kroz reggae klubove, soundsysteme i prodavaonice ploča.
Suradnici i dopisnici predočavaju roots i dub scenu iz vlastitih perspektiva, izvlačeći najinteresantnije podatke iz prošlosti, sadašnjosti, kao i najave za budućnost iz svojih okruženja, sve popraćeno kvalitetnim fotografijama sa različitih događanja ili studijskih snimanja, iz klubova, itd.
Sve reakcije i sugestije su dobrodošle. Irie Up je svjestan kako se reggae scena razlikuje od grada do grada, i od države do države, i da je baš ta različitost i snaga samog pokreta. Magazin je pisan na engleskom jeziku, trudeći se pisati na jednostavan i nedvosmislen način, lakše razumljiv u međunarodnim razmjerima. Uživajmo u radostima koje nam donosi reggae glazba i kultura!
Irie Up is a celebration of reggae music and culture, featuring news, interviews, reflections on history and culture, reviews and stories from the international roots scene. It is published bi-monthly (six issues a year) beginning in January 2010. Each issue is made up of a feature interview, a feature story, a ‘ReggaeTown’ feature covering a different city in each issue, and reviews of new releases and re-issues. The second half of the magazine is focused on international news, initially featuring correspondents from Ireland, the UK, France, Germany, Poland, Croatia, and Italy, with some additional news from Japan and USA/the Caribbean.
Irie Up supports and promotes soundsystem culture, bringing news from local scenes to an international audience, and international news to local audiences, with Irie Up being distributed initially through reggae clubs, soundsystems and record shops.
Local correspondents give a picture of the roots and dub scene from their own perspectives, and draw together the best stories from past, present and future from their own regions, followed with nice pictures from the scene, clubs, gigs or just people hanging out or working in the studio and so on.
Any feedback or suggestions are welcome. Irie Up is aware the reggae scene is different from town to town and country to country, and that diversity is the strength of the movement. The magazine is published in English, and we will try to write plain and straightforward articles for an international audience. Let’s focus on the joy of reggae music and culture!
